HOW TO CLEAN A SILICONE MERMAID TAIL VIDEO: Tips & Tricks for Washing and Cleaning your Mermaid Tail ♥ How do you clean a silicone mermaid tail? What do you do when your mermaid tail is dirty? Well, here's my advice! This video is for Professional Mermaids, recreational mermaids and mermaids aspiring to someday own a Hyper-Realistic pro mermaid tail. When you go swimming in your mermaid tail (or pose at events or for photo shoots) you are going to get it dirty. Sand and grime can build up on your tail and can cause discoloration and paint scrapes. Chlorine and Salt water can also damage your tail if you do not clean it directly after your swim. However, ANY type of water that you swim in can and WILL damage your silicone mermaid tail if you do not clean it properly after each swim. Mold can build, chemicals and salt can deteriorate the paint on your tail... lots of bad things can happen!

Tail Care and Maintenance is a very important thing to know about BEFORE you buy your first silicone mermaid tail. Because silicone mermaid tails cannot be thrown into the washing machine like fabric mermaid tails can, the cleaning process can be a bit lengthy. In this video, I've done the best I can to explain my Tail Cleaning processes in a way that is as short, sweet and easy to follow as possible. I hope you'll find it helpful!

NOTE: This video shows how I clean my MerNation Silicone Mermaid Tail, since you've all been asking! But... that doesn't mean that my technique will work for every tail. It's just what I do! Be sure to ask your tailmaker about specific washing instructions for your type of tail. Not all tails are the same, and like... can you even fit a FinFolk tail in a bathtub with their ginormous flukes!?!? 😆
